As a reminder, the Elementary Facility Plan Citizen Task Force's charge is to recommend 1 or 2 preferred elementary school facility options by the end of 2024, including advice on whether the number of elementary schools in the District should be reduced and if so, then how, where, and when.

A major reason for the budget deficit is the state funding model that has not kept pace with inflation. As a reminder, from earlier this year, this is part of a Wausau School District/Wausau School Board process to create a long-range elementary school facilities plan. That plan will focus, in particular, on whether the number of elementary schools in the Wausau School District should be reduced and if so, then how, where, and when.
